Description

Senior citizen populations are growing throughout the country—and with them, the need for long-term care. Many types of long-term care are difficult to pay for—they’re often not covered by Medicare or traditional health insurance plans. Medicaid does cover long-term care, but only for seniors with incomes that qualify—leaving many middle-income seniors unable to afford the high cost of care on their own.

Long-term care insurance is designed to provide coverage for desperately-needed long-term care services that aren’t covered anywhere else. For insurance producers, LTC insurance can be highly profitable—with the need for it growing every day. This course provides the in-depth knowledge you need to help your clients choose the right plan—and get coverage that will be there for them when they need it.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • The Long-Term Care market today
  • Long-Term Care policies: how they work
  • LTC providers and services
  • Paying for Long-Term Care: private and government options
  • Legislation and Long-Term Care
  • Activities of Daily Living: federal and state definitions.
  • Insurance carrier ratings.
  • Consumer protections.
  • Long-Term Care Partnership programs.

This course is available in online format—making complying with state insurance continuing education requirements easy and convenient. Plan your study time around your professional and family schedule—and receive test results immediately after completion.
