- 24 hours of CE biennially, which must include at least 3 hours of ethics and another 3 hours must be of Oregon law.

Long Term Care -LTC
- Agents wishing to sell Long Term Care are required to take a one time only 8 hour Department of Insurance certified course
- Each license term thereafter each agent must complete a 4 hour Long Term Care Partnership CE course that is approved by the department.

Flood Insurance Training
- An insurance producer who sells flood insurance may satisfy the minimum training
and education requirements by completing a 3-hour course related to the National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP).

How Hours are Reported
- You must submit a copy of the certificate of completion with your signed renewal application and renewal fee prior to the expiration date of your license. You are also required to keep a copy in your records for 3 years. Oregon Department of Insurance will mail you the renewal form that is needed. If you do not wish to mail renewal you may go to NIPR and renew online.

Completion Certificates
- Certificates of completion are available as soon as a course is completed with a passing grade. Certificates should be printed, mailed with the renewal form received from the Oregon Insurance Division. A copy should be kept on file for three years.

Exemptions
- Nonresident agents.
- Agents selling limited lines that do not require and exam.
- Retired agents at least 58 years old, licensed for at least 10 years, authorized to transact life insurance only, and only servicing existing policies. To use this exemption you must get Department approval.
