Idaho Idaho Long Term Care Refresher

CE Course description

In the next 15 years or so, the elderly population in Idaho is expected to increase rapidly. It’s projected to nearly double from 1995 to 2025, from 11.4% to 21.5%. As the population of Idaho ages, preparing for long-term care costs is going to be critical—both for individuals and the infrastructures that serve them.

Because Medicare doesn’t usually cover long-term care costs, many seniors will have to purchase long-term care insurance. Sales of long-term care insurance are expected to boom along with senior populations. This course is designed for Life and Health producers interested in making knowledgeable, ethical long-term care insurance a cornerstone of their practice.

This course meets the Idaho Department of Insurance’s regulations for continuing education for resident producers. The regulations require long-term care producers to complete eight hours of initial training and four hours of continuing education every two years afterward. Topics covered in this course include:

  • Long-term care insurance: how it works
  • Possibilities for funding long-term care costs.
  • Government-sponsored health care options, including MedicAid.
  • Ethical issues relevant to long-term care insurance
  • Idaho’s Long-Term Care Partnership policies—and how they affect public and private coverage.
  • Suitability of long-term care insurance.

This course is available as a downloadable PDF, so you don’t have to wait to get your course materials or see the results of your test. Order this course today to get started meeting your continuing education requirements.
